2025 GPC Weigh-offs

  • *NEW* Cumberland Fair

    September 21, 2025

    The Cumberland Fair is now an official GPC weigh-off site but is a registration-only site. So, GPC plaques and ribbons will NOT be awarded.

    Fruit will be accepted at the Teamster Gate off of Bruce Hill Road from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

    Fruit will be weighed beginning at 9:30 a.m.

    Giant pumpkin/squash must weigh at least 100 pounds to enter.

    All entries must stay on the fairgrounds for the entire duration of the fair and may be picked up the Sunday following the Cumberland Fair.

    A $250 bonus, sponsored by the Cumberland Fair, will be awarded for a new fair record in the Giant Pumpkin class over 2070 lbs. The qualifying pumpkin must be grown in the State of Maine. In the event of 2 or more pumpkins weighing more than 2070 lbs., the heaviest pumpkin will be awarded the bonus.

  • Damariscotta Pumpkinfest

    Opens at 7am for 10am event.

    Enter the official Great Pumpkin Commonwealth Weigh-Off and compete against the "Big Boys". This is the State of Maine’s largest weigh-off, featuring a jaw-dropping total purse of $10,000.

    $1000 prize for a new Maine State Record

    The first-place entry must remain on exhibit for the duration of the festival. Other entrants have the option of selling or donating their pumpkins to the festival, to be used as pumpkin boats and street art (seeds can be saved by request).

  • Windsor Fair

    August 23, 2025

    Fruit are accepted from 9am - 10am at the Agricultural tent.

    All entries must remain on exhibit for the duration of Windsor Fair and may be picked up on Labor Day between 6:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M.

    The Largest Giant Pumpkin to date is 1218 lbs.

    If anyone beats the record they get $500.00

  • Blue Hill Fair

    August 27-29, 2025

    Items may be entered at the Exhibition Hall during the following hours:

    Wednesday - 9AM to 8PM
    Thursday - 9AM to 8PM
    Friday - 8AM to 12 PM

    Judging starts at 12:30 Friday

    Open to all Residents of the State of Maine.

    Pumpkin/Squash shall be grown in the State of Maine

    All entries must remain on exhibit for the duration of the Fair, until 6PM on Labor Day.

    Pumpkins/Squash will be judged together for this contest.

  • Litchfield Fair

    September 3, 2025

    All Giant Pumpkin entries must arrive on a pallet, and be brought to the fair between the Museum and Blacksmith’s Shop the Wednesday prior to the fair between 4:30pm and 8:30pm.

    Growers must assist with the unloading and weighing of their giant pumpkin entries and be present at the time of their entries’ weigh-in.

    MINIMUM of 50 lb.

    All entries will remain on the Fairgrounds through the duration of the fair for display, and be picked up the Sunday between 5pm and 7pm.

    Beat the Litchfield Fair record of 1,012lbs and win an EXTRA $50!!

  • Fryeburg Fair

    September 25-26, 2025

    Pumpkins and squash over 75 pounds will be weighed ONLY on Thursday and Friday before the fair from 3PM to 5PM. Please proceed directly to the horse scales at that time.

  • Damariscotta Pumpkinfest Volunteer Growers Weigh-off

    Opens at 7am for 10am event.

    Bring your Giant Pumpkin (of all sizes!) to the Volunteer Weigh-Off, where we will award up to $2,500 in prizes to the top 5 adult growers (16 & older) and the top 10 children growers (ages 8-15), plus a prize for the kid with the prettiest pumpkin.

    *Note – This occurs the day before the Damariscotta GPC Weigh-Off and is intended for amateur growers.
